“Plaza de la Aviacion Plaza de la Aviacién is an extension of the Balmaceda Park, which was created in 1929 as part of the old Japanese Park, designed by the Austrian landscape architect Oscar Prager. Its current name is given in honor of the Chilean Air Force monument erected in 1980. In the square you will also find a water fountain called Bicentennial, which is almost 70 meters long and more than 25 meters wide, inducted in 2005 by the Municipality of Providencia. In this sector you can visit Balmaceda Park, and Uruguay Park, which are part of the green areas that run along the banks of the Mapocho River. You can also walk along Avenida Providencia, a tourist area full of life, which has different shops, restaurants, cafes and bars to enjoy Santiago.
Costanera Center H Costanera Center is a building complex that combines an experience of innova- } tion and entertainment. Housing the tallest building in Latin America at 300 meters high, this impressive structure offers endless possibilities beginning with an ample offer of products from the largest mall in Chile, where some of the most important brands of the world can be found. In addition to its wide culinary offer, you will find a movie theater and a roof top | terrace with a viewpoint, called Sky Costanera, where visitors can appreciate the city with privileged panoramic views. The surroundings of the building encompass the maximum expression of modernity and progress, in front is the new financial district of the city, also ¥ known as Sanhattan.
Teleférico This is the closest stop to Parque Metropolitano and Teleférico Santiago. Just a short 5-minute walk to enjoy these | entertaining attractions, such as riding a cable car and enjoying panoramic views of Santiago from the air, arriving at the summit of Cerro San Cristdébal. On the way to the park, you can visit Parque de las Esculturas, an outdoor area with more than 30 sculptures by rominent Chilean artists. Also in the ector is the historic Casona “Lo ontador”, a beautiful building with Spanish influences from the late 18th century, that is occupied today by the campus of Architecture, Design and Urban Studies of the Catholic Univeristy.
